Masked intruder,
Prowler, looter —
Cute as cute can be.
On a lark
At Sidecut Park
Along the great Maumee.

  1. Even though I have plenty of reasons not to like them (they raid our strawberry patch), there is just something so irresistibly cute about a raccoon. You captured it perfectly!

  2. I think these dear creatures get away with a lot of shenanigans because of their cute faces! This collaboration by the Goods says it all!Best in the new year to both of you!PatriciaPM_Poet Writer

  3. Oooh, oooh Marie! I love it! Can I has one?Akshully, we get them here in Tahoe all the time, and they're really terrible pests, but this poem and that picture make me wants to own one.

  4. LOL! You guys crack me up. They ARE cute-as-all-get-out, aren't they? But they get on our roofs, in people's garbage cans, down chimneys, etc., and can be such trouble makers. 😦 This little guy was out in broad daylight, which is unusual, and obviously didn't mind Keith's camera. Little cutie pie!

  5. No no, Boo and Kate, he's mine, I saw him first…uh, well, I commented on him first:) I love raccoons, we had them on the ranch, and they were precious. Ate all my mother's cat food that she put out for the feral cats, and tried to eat the dog food in the barn, but couldn't quite get past the Rottweilers. Strangely enough, the Rotties got them out by barking, but never chased or caught them. I found two in the tack room one day, playing with two bridles…unfortunately, I didn't have a camera with me.

  6. Hi RJ! Yep, Keith took the photo. He loves photographing nature. Someday, maybe we'll take a trip to Alaska or something, so he can catch some different scenery and wildlife. We homebodies don't get away much. ;)Mikki, your ranch sounds like such fun! I think maybe the Rotties knew they'd be on the losing end of that scuffle.

  7. Well this little guy is getting around: OH, Canada, Colorado, California, the Retreat…we need a name for him. Tell Keith he took an outstanding photo.

  8. I can't decide which is awesomer — the photo or the poem! Both exceptionally impressive! It looks like he was super-concentrating on something. . . Marie? What treat did you bring him to set up that shot for Keith? LOL~Colette
